Hello! My name is Gregory LoForte. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with the state of Florida. I began practicing in 2008 as a behavior assistant utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis with children, adolescents, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectually Disabled and other co-occurring disorders. I graduated from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL in January 2012 with my Master's of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling. I am dedicated to working with those who suffer from substance abuse, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, depression, survivors of abuse, trauma, grief/loss and suicidal behaviors.

I am passionate about helping those who suffer from substance abuse and mental health issues because of my own personal journey in this life. I have found that without effective counseling, I would not be where I am today.

My current therapeutic practice encompasses most disorders including substance abuse, bi-polar disorder, depression, anxiety, self-harm, eating disorders, sex addiction, etc. I have experience with dual diagnosis, co-occurring Axis I and substance abuse. Developing cultural competency is very important to me. I have worked with most ages, ethnicities, genders and sexual orientations. I am competent in LGBTQ+ issues. I have a giant passion to help my LGBTQ+ community. It is important to me as a person and counselor to provide services which will help people find their passions and reach their goals.

My therapeutic modalities include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Re-Processing (EMDR) and some eclectic styles. I am influenced by Carl Roger’s, Marsha Linehan's and Jean Shapiro’s techniques for creating change. I'm excited to get to know you and work together to create positive change and acceptance in your life!
