About Me
Hello! My name is Gregory LoForte. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with the state of Florida. I began practicing in 2008 using Applied Behavior Analysis with children, adolescents, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectually Disabled and other co-occurring disorders. I graduated from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL in January 2012 with my Master's of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling. Currently, I practice Dialectical Behavior Therapy and EMDR to assist clients in working through trauma and life issues. I am dedicated to working with those suffering from substance abuse, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, depression, survivors of abuse, trauma, grief/loss and suicidal behaviors.

My Approach
I consider myself a behavior therapist with compassion at my core. I practice Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). DBT, actualized by Marsha Linehan, is a therapeutic model which synthesizes change procedures and acceptance procedures. From mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness, I have been using DBT to guide my interventions for effective change in clients' lives.
